What is the change you want to see in the world?

Participants say that ...

“My first idea that I had about permaculture was actually very reduced to agriculture.  What I found in these two weeks is that permaculture is way more than just putting seeds into soil. It’s much more complex… It’s the whole system of community, your own personality, how it fits in there… How you can take responsibility.

One of my biggest Ah Ha moments, was to take responsibility and try things out, even though I maybe don’t know all the details and the whole package.  What I take back home … is that I want to try things out, taking risks that I don’t know the outcomes of.”

"It’s a very inspiring course here. I learn a lot of things.

What I learned here, at the beginning of the course, is from just one word. Why we learn about Community? Because community can bring the answers for the social programs, social issues, that we are facing.

[You] definitely deserve to spend these two weeks to get inspired to find your own mission in your life and to connect with people and the earth.  I literally felt it in my body.”

Aiko Kakehashi, Japan

“From Day 1, I was already learning a lot, even before the lessons really started.  Just about, how people are in different parts of the world, and how they’re really not that much different from where I came from.

From the very first official day of teaching I knew I was gonna learn something new every day.

I’m bringing back a lot from this course.  It’s not all permaculture related, which is great.  …Change can come from an individual, but it can happen perhaps more simply and the dreams that you have are more achievable when you collaborate & work with a group."
